Chet Kuskowski
Accomplished Skier
Chet Kuskowski is an accomplished athlete,
successful businessman and loving father. Disabled at the
age of eighteen by a gunshot wound, Chet would not let his accident
bring an end to his love of sports. He continued to compete in athletic
competitions and found great success through his love of the water.
Chet is an avid water skier who has become
a great influence and role model in this particular sport. He has
participated in both the Disabled Water Skiing World and National
Championships and has established a great list of achievements as
a result. In 2003, he was inducted into the Athletes with Disabilities
Hall of Fame.
Not only is he a fierce competitor on the water, Chet is also a distinguished
instructor to children everywhere. Committed to providing children
with an opportunity to enjoy a life of sports, he devotes many weekends
to introducing water and snow skiing to children with disabilities
in camps across Michigan.
When Chet isn’t spending his time
on the water or teaching, he is employed as a rehabilitation specialist
in Southeast Michigan. A life-long Ford owner, his association with
Ford Motor Company has him traveling across the country, highlighting
the adaptability and benefits of Ford products for persons with disabilities.
In his spare time, Chet enjoys camping, swimming
and spending time with his family.
